Site Statistics

A few months back I applied Google Analytics to my site to get a better feel for the traffic coming to my site.  This in addition to FeedBurner for the RSS stats provides a very accurate insight into the popular trends and directions of the site.  Here are some of the highlights:

Site Traffic over the last 3 months:

• I average around 7,000 page views a month from 5600 unique visitors
• 54% of my traffic came from Google: popular searches included: netapp volume autogrow, aaron delp, netapp cheat sheet, netapp command line cheat sheet, cisco ucs, and vmware update manager
• My top referring sites include Scott Lowe's Blog (thank you Scott!), Tech Republic Blogs, NetApp Communities, FeedBurner, and Twitter
• Google Searches outnumber Bing Searches 70 to 1
• My top 5 posts in order
• Cisco UCS vs. IBM and HP: Where are the Brains
• NetApp Cheat Sheet
• It's Now All About the IOP's
• NetApp mbrscan and mbralign In-Depth

• I average 1k views a day on days that I post articles

• Over the last 6 months my top 3 posts

• Virtualization Podcast Directory

What did I learn?  I already suspected all the interest in the Cisco UCS articles but the NetApp Cheat Sheet surprised me.  I threw that up over a year ago as a brain dump for me when I was doing installs.  It doesn't get a lot of comments any more but it appears to be popular.  Based on this, I will try to give it a little more attention in the future!
